REMEMBER Premiere in Timisoara
March 2009 – Razvan Mazilu prepares a new dance-theatre show, at the National Theatre in Timisoara. Based on the novel of Mateiu Caragiale, REMEMBER, the show gives Mazilu the opportunity to express himself as an interpreter of one of the two leading roles as well as author of script, director, choreographer and costume designer. Greek visual artist Dionisis Christophilogiannis signs the stage set and video projections. The first two performances are scheduled on 7 and 8 March 2009.

Razvan Mazilu and Guests – Dance across generations
February 2009 – In an ongoing attempt to encourage young students studying the art of dance, Razvan Mazilu and his special guests present another fund-raising performance. The show brings together artists of various generations, including Paris-based choreographer Gigi Caciuleanu, Swiss dancer and acrobat Monique Schnyder, ballet dancers Monica Petrica and Momica Strat, gymnast Marius Urzica, the only Romanian Olympic Champion in gymnastics; composer and violinist Alexander Balanescu,
The show, aiming at raising funds for the ballet schools in Romania, in particular the choreography department of the Octav Bancila Art High-School in Iasi, is sponsored by E.ON and produced by perfoRM Foundation. The National Bucharest Opera House, media partners Gold FM, Evenimentul Zilei, Tango, port.ro and liternet, as well as Affichage Romania and Ramada Plaza hotel have partnered the foundation in this project.
Following the previous charity galas, the 'Floria Capsali' Choreography High-School in Bucharest received donations consisting of 30,000 EUR worth of choreographic study materials, technical equipment and workshops of contemporary dance.
Razvan Mazilu: „I am very happy and grateful that we have succeeded in continuing this project and I hope we will be able to have more such special shows in the future, despite the economic difficulties. To become a professional dancer is not easy; it takes a lot of work and determination and Romanian children studying dance need all the support they can get. They need appropriate study rooms and proper equipment, available in all major European dance schools.
Such initiatives obviously cannot solve all the problems, but they can hopefully encourage our young dancers and raise awareness among the authorities and general public about the difficulties that the art of dance, an important form of art, is facing in Romania."

New one-man show, SHADOWS OF LIGHT
October 2008 – Razvan Mazilu stars in a breathtaking 60-minute one-man show created particularly for his style by a team of French artists, led by internationally acclaimed choreographer Philippe Tréhet. The show, called SHADOWS OF LIGHT, is presented by the Odeon Theatre in Bucharest on a regular basis. The show is produced by perfoRM Foundation and Odeon Theatre.

Philippe Tréhet is one of the most important French choreographers today, having created numerous shows for prestigious theatres around the world, including Nederlands Dans Theater, San Francisco Ballet or Bat Dor Dance Company. For the French choreographer, SHADOWS OF LIGHT is the 65th creation of his career. Philippe Tréhet: "I have thus created a piece in which Razvan Mazilu will be able to show – once more – the magnitude of his talent, sensitivity and force.

The character he embodies is a man trapped in his past, in the habit of living together with the ghosts of his lost loves. The show starts as the character decides to put an end to this way of life, stopping crying for all things lost and putting a smile on his face at the thought of all he has experienced. It is a struggle for the character to become and re-become. He will embark on a ritual through which he is facing his own demons. The shadows will no longer be a source of anxiety or malice, but they will become, above all else, his best allies. They will be his shadows of light."
